Sharon E. Watkins
Sharon E. Watkins is a Christian minister and, since 2005, had been the general minister and president of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She was re-elected to another six-year term in 2011 by the general assembly.
Watkins delivered the sermon at the National Prayer Service in Washington, D.C. on January 21, 2009, at the invitation of newly inaugurated president, Barack Obama, and offered the call to worship at the president's second National Prayer Service in 2013. She served a term on the White House Advisory Council for the Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.[1][2]
Watkins has published a book through Chalice Press, Whole: A Call to Unity in Our Fragmented World.[3]
