Shivnath Thukral is presently the Managing Director of Carnegie Endowment for International Peace of the India centre is a foreign Policy Think tank with global centres.[1] Shivnath was previously the Group president, Corporate Branding and Strategic Initiatives at Essar. He was earlier the Group Business Editor, NDTV and won accolades as a journalist. He was voted the Best Business Anchor In India by News Television Awards.

Biography

Shivnath Thukral is the Group-President at Essar for Corporate Branding & Strategic Initiatives.[2] He was earlier with NDTV as Group Business Editor unntil November 2009.

Shivnath is an award winning[3] journalist with 14 years of experience as a journalist and popular moderator.[4] He has covered international summits[5] like the WTO in Doha and the World Economic Forum in Davos for three years in a row, and reported on vital national corporate developments like the Ambani brothers’ feud and the Jet-Sahara merger. He pursued a masters degree in economics from the Delhi School of Economics.

Thukral has over the years established excellent contacts with the top managements[6] of India Inc, economic policy makers, and regulators and ensures the presence of the top faces and their crucial moves in his news reporting. From the Ambanis to the Tatas, Thukral has interviewed every prominent CEO in the country.[7] He has also covered several international summits like WTO in Doha, Cancun as well as World Economic Forum in Davos. Achievements

Shivnath received the Best Television Anchor for Business News Award in 2008 by the News Television Awards of India.[9] Shivnath Thukral was among the first two journalists to report live on television, the attacks on the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai on 26 November 2008.[10] Shivnath Thukral Received his Masters Degree in Telecommunications from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, College of Mass Communications and Media Arts in 2000: Thesis title "Internet use as a news resource in Indian television."
