Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Siegfried Fischer (27 November 1918 – 26 March 1998) was a highly decorated Oberfeldwebel in the Luftwaffe during World War II. He was recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, awarded by Nazi Germany to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. During his career he was credited with 713 missions and 15 aerial victories. Fischer was captured by Soviet troops in April 1945 and was held captive until September 1946.
