Simon Crosby is Co-founder and CTO of security software vendor Bromium Inc.[1] and was a faculty member at the University of Cambridge, UK.
Career
On completing his PhD., Mr Crosby joined the faculty of the University of Cambridge, UK. where he subsequently founded CPlane Inc., a network optimization software vendor, where he held a variety of executive roles. Crosby joined Intel in 2003 where he served as Principal Engineer leading a research project in the use of distributed, autonomic inference to develop algorithms for enhanced system security. He co-founded open source virtualization developer XenSource with Ian Pratt where he served as Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development, and later as CTO after co-founder Moshe Bar was forced out of the company. He joined Citrix through the acquisition of XenSource in 2007 where he served as CTO of the Data Center and Cloud Division at Citrix Systems until leaving in 2011. Mr. Crosby serves as Member of the Advisory Board of Apprenda and Vyatta Inc. He has been a Board Member of AppZero Corp. and is an angel investor in IonGrid.
Mr Crosby chairs the Switch Control Working Group of the Multi-Service Switching Forum where he is active in promoting new standards for open, programmable networks.
Education
Simon holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, an MSc degree in Computer Science from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, and a BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
