Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, 8th Baronet
Sir Henry Egerton Aubrey-Fletcher, 8th Baronet (born 27 November 1945) is the current Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire. He is the grandson of Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, 6th Bt, who held the same position from 1954 to 1961.
Biography
Aubrey-Fletcher is the only son and second child of Sir John Aubrey-Fletcher, 7th Baronet, and Diana Mary Fynvola Egerton. He was educated at Eton College.
Henry Aubrey-Fletcher has spent most of his career either farming or working in the broadcasting industry. He worked on his father's farm until 1972 when he took over the tenancy. The same year he joined BBC Radio Oxford as a freelance presenter working shifts whenever they were available. In 1987 he joined the board of FOX FM the company awarded the Independent Local Radio licence for Oxfordshire. With others he went on to found another 7 independent radio stations throughout central and southern England. He withdrew from the radio industry in 2006. He was Deputy Chairman of the National Trust 2002–2005 and President of the Country Land and Business Association 2008–2010.
With his wife Bertie he now runs a number of companies in Buckinghamshire including Chilton House Residential Home and the Chilton Business Centre. [1]
Aubrey-Fletcher inherited the Fletcher baronetcy upon the death of his father in 1992. He served as High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire in 1995/96.
Marriage and children
Aubrey-Fletcher married Sara Roberta Buchanan in 1976 and with her has three sons:
- John Robert Aubrey-Fletcher (born 20 June 1977)
- Thomas Egerton Aubrey-Fletcher (born 17 November 1980)
- Harry Buchanan Aubrey-Fletcher (born 29 March 1982), a friend of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, married in 2011 at Aldborough, North Yorkshire, to Hon (Sarah) Louise Stourton (born 28 February 1982), eldest daughter of the Edward Stourton, 27th Baron Mowbray, 28th Baron Segrave and 24th Baron Stourton. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (the duchess being then Miss Catherine Middleton) attended the wedding.
