Soliti is a Finnish indie record label based in Helsinki. The label was founded in 2011 by Nick Triani. Soliti is the Italian word for usual.[1] The first artists to join the label were Astrid Swan, Big Wave Riders, Black Twig, Cats On Fire and The New Tigers.[2]

History

Triani founded Soliti in 2011 and the first record ever released trough Soliti was Hits - a collection of Pavement covers by Astrid Swan in 2011.[1] Soliti now works with the following artists: Astrid Swan, Big Wave Riders, Black Lizard, Black Twig, Cats of Transnistria, Cats On Fire, Delay Trees, Ghost of Jack Nance, Gim Kordon, LOVE SPORT, Manna, Mumrunner, Oceans, Paperfangs, Satellite Stories, Sister Flo and The New Tigers.[3]

Bands signed to the label often get covered abroad and most notable, Cats on Fire's album All Blackshirts To Me was described as "the best European album of the year"[4] by The Guardian in 2012. Prefix Magazine did a short documentary on the label in 2012 which featured Triani, Teppo and Petri from Big Wave Riders as well as Rami from Delay Trees. The documentary covers the history of the label so far, the perspective of the artist's that work with the label and it also touches the indie scene in Helsinki.[5]

In 2016 Soliti was recognised as one of Europe's most inspiring young label and was selected by IMPALA and The Independent Echo for the FIVEUNDERFIFTEEN campaign.[6]
