Archery
The Soviet Union was represented by four archers in Moscow, two men and two women. The women outscored everyone else in the competition, including in the men's division, to win the gold and silver medals. The men added another silver medal and a 6th-place finish to make the Soviet Union the first nation to win three medals in modern Olympic archery competition.
