Spiniphallellus desertus is a moth of the Gelechiidae family. It is found in Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Russia.[1]

The wingspan is 16-18 mm. The forewings are blackish brown with a faint cover of light grey, especially at the costal and apical parts. The black stigmata in the middle of the wing are hardly visible. There are light grey-brown scales in the fold. The hindwings are white with black margins and veins. Adults are on wing from mid-May to mid-June.

Etymology

The species name refers to the species distribution in desert areas and is derived from Latin deserta (meaning desert).[2]
