Spirifer is a genus of marine brachiopods belonging to the order Spiriferida family Spiriferidae. Species belonging to the genus occurred from the Middle Ordovician (Sandbian) through to the Middle Permian (Wordian). They were stationary epifaunal suspension feeders.[1]
