St. Clare Hospital is a hospital in Lakewood, Washington, United States, provides inpatient and outpatient medical services, including 24-hour emergency care and treatment for sleep disorders. It is part of the Franciscan Health System, based in Tacoma, Washington.
History
The hospital opened in 1961 as Lakewood General and became part of the Franciscan Health System and Catholic Health Initiatives in 1990, when its name was also changed to St. Clare Hospital.[1]
As part of the non-profit and faith-based Franciscan Health System, the mission of St. Clare Hospital is "to nurture the healing ministry of the Church by bringing it new life, energy and viability in the 21st century. Fidelity to the Gospel urges us to emphasize human dignity and social justice as we move toward the creation of healthier communities."
