The St. Mary’s Cathedral[1] also called Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception[2] is the name given to a religious building belonging to the Catholic Church and is located in the Kakrail, Ramna road, in Dhaka,[3] Bangladesh.[4] It was established in 1956[5] and his feast is celebrated on December 8.
Follow the Roman or Latin rite and is home to the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Dhaka (Latin: Archidioecesis Dhakensis; Bengali: ঢাকার বিশপের এলাকা). It is one of 2 cathedrals located in the city being the other dedicated to St. Thomas belongs to the Anglican Church. His Metropolitan Archbishop is Patrick D'Rozario. It is dedicated to the Virgin Mary in her title of the Immaculate Conception.
