The Hongta Hotel Shanghai was formerly the St. Regis Shanghai Hotel, which opened in 2001. The hotel is located in the Pudong District of Shanghai, China. It contains 328 rooms and suites, is 37 stories tall and has 376,000 square feet (34,900 m2) of space.[1] The hotel was designed by Sydness Architects for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.

When it was the St. Regis Shanghai Hotel, it was rated #15 in the hotels of Asia in Condé Nast's Traveler Readers' Choice.[2]
