St John's College Boat Club (SJCBC) is the rowing club of St John's College, Durham University, England. It was founded in 1910 and is one of the oldest boat clubs in Durham.

Structure

The club is entirely run by students and attracts most of its members from St John's College – though anyone can join with the permission of the captain.

The club has around 100 active members. It is run by the executive committee, elected at the Club AGM in June. These are Captain of Boats, Vice Captain Men, Vice Captain Women, Captain of Coxes, Secretary, Treasurer, Social Secretary, Health and Safety Officer and Boatman.

Competition

The club has had a number of successes in recent years, including winning the women's Novice Cup in the 09/10 and 10/11 seasons. In the 2012/13 season, St. John's won the Women's novice cup as well as both the men's and women's novice plates. They narrowly missed out on the Men's cup, and were runners up to John Snow. The Club also had wins in Hexham, York Regattas and the Winter Challenge Cup.

The Club competes mainly on the North Eastern Rowing circuit, though has entered boats in the Head of the River Race (HoRR), Women's Head of the River Race (WeHorr), The Boston Rowing Marathon and Henley Royal Regatta.

Club colours

The club blades are regatta blue, regatta blue being one of the colours of St. Johns College.

The club racing kit is defined for all-in-ones as "navy blue with white and red side stripes".

The club blazer can be worn by any long serving member and is "white with blue trim". This can be worn at all club socials and some college events including formal dinners. St Johns College JCR awards "Colours" on the recommendation of the SJCBC Colours Committee.
