St Michael and All Angels Church, Polwatte
St Michael and All Angels Church, Polwatte was dedicated on the 29th of September 1887 and is a landmark in Kollupitiya, a suburb of Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. A magnificent building of stone, mortar and wood, it stands as a testimony to its rich history of prayer, worship and mission.
St. Michael's is a vibrant and growing Anglican Church of the Diocese of Colombo, Church of Ceylon. It plays an essential role in providing worship and spiritual guidance and also reaches out to the local community making a difference in their lives. Worship services are held in English, Sinhala and Tamil.
The 125th anniversary of the Church will be celebrated in the year 2012.
