Subdivisions of Galicia
The Subdivisions of Galicia were the administrative districts of the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria, the largest and most populous part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire between 1772 and 1918. It consisted of 73 administrative districts in 1877 and 78 in 1900 and they were responsible for storing vital records. Galicia is today a historical region in Poland and Ukraine.
Voivodeships and oblasts
Today Galicia is spread upon three Polish voivodeships (Lesser Poland, Subcarpathia and some very small parts in Silesia) and three Ukrainian oblasts (Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil).[1]

Jewish Administrative Centers
The government assigned some towns the status of Jewish Administrative Center. These Administrative Centers were responsible for maintaining Jewish vital records.
