Syndicat des transports d'Île-de-France
The Syndicat des transports d'Île-de-France (STIF) is the transport organisation authority that controls the Paris public transport network and coordinates the different transport companies operating in Île-de-France, mainly the RATP, the SNCF and Optile. STIF was created in 1959 and, since 2005, is a public establishment. STIF coordinates RATP, SNCF Ile-de-France and the 90 Optile-affiliated transport operators. STIF has real autonomy and is not dependent on the French Government.
