Frank Tønnesen (born 28 April 1972), better known by his stage name Tønes, is a Norwegian singer, songwriter and guitarist from Sokndal, Norway.[1] He released his debut album, Rett te håves in 1996 and has released since anumber of albums and EPs. He uses the Sokndal dialect in many of his songs and tells intriguing stories. He has also written reviews in Egersund.
In concerts, he performs both solo and with a backing band that may defer, with at times accompanied by just a bass and/or an accordion. The most performing musicians Gaute Tengesdal (bass), Johan Egdeveit (accordion), Erlend Aasland (guitar, steel guitar, banjo, mandolin, piano), Kjell Gudmestad (guitar), Øystein Holmen (keyboards, backing vocals). In 2012, Arne Andersen joined in playing drums, percussions.
