T-Series is a music label owned by Super Cassettes Industries Private Limited (SCIL), an Indian music company[1] which is also engaged in film production and distribution.
History
T-Series was founded by Gulshan Kumar[2] and is run by his son, Bhushan Kumar.[3] T-Series entered into film production in 2001 with the film, Tum Bin.[4] T-Series' first original film soundtrack release was for Lallu Ram in 1984, with music scored by Ravindra Jain.[5] T-Series worked with film music directors, including Himesh Reshammiya, Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar Rajviani, Anand Raj Anand, Ankit Tiwari, Meet Bros Anjjan, Damodar Raao and Amal Malik. It and later ventured into manufacturing consumer electronics and audio-video systems under the T-Series label until 2009.[6] The label released devotional and regional albums in Indian languages such as Punjabi, Odia, Rajasthani and Bhojpuri.
