The Texas State Bobcats baseball program is the intercollegiate baseball team representing Texas State University. The Bobcats' first season was in 1985, and have played their home games at Bobcat Ballpark on the university's campus in San Marcos, Texas since 2009.

Since the 2014 season, the Bobcats have competed as a member of the Sun Belt Conference. Previously, the Bobcats were a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC), Southland Conference, and Gulf Star Conference.

History

Ty Harrington (University of Texas at Austin '89) entered the 2010 season (his 11th at Texas State) with a 337-252 W/L record, the best of the four Bobcat coaches they have had since 1985, and a 178-102 in the Southland Conference. He reached his 350th career win on March 27, 2010 with a home victory over Lamar. His 400th career win came on April 23, 2011 with a 16-2 victory over Northwestern State University. Entering his 12th season at Texas State (2011), Harrington sports a 375-274 all-time record, including a 201-112 record during Southland Conference play. He has helped produce 55 all-conference selections, and 23 of Harrington’s players have been chosen in the Major League Baseball Draft.

The 2009 season was, to date, Harrington's most successful as a coach, taking the team to the regular season Southland title with an overall record of 41-17 (24-7 SLC) and its fourth Regional appearance. The 2011 season yielded Harrington his 400th career win (416-297) as this team tied the season high win mark once again, with 41 (41-23). Winning the Southland Conference Title by 4 games and taking the Southland Conference Tournament, from the losers bracket, by winning 5 straight games. Five more Bobcats were drafted in the 2011 MLB Draft.
