The Amazing Nina Simone is a 1959 studio album by Nina Simone. It was her first of eight albums for Colpix Records, which would quickly be followed by 8 albums on the same label, before signing with Philips Records in 1964. The album very much oozes the atmosphere of cool jazz, in accordance with the image she had on her debut album, Little Girl Blue (1958) for Bethlehem Records. Compared to her debut, which showcased Simone's piano playing ability in addition to her singing, the piano is somewhat downplayed on this album in favor of lush string arrangements. This album also features some gospel songs, such as "Children Go Where I Send You".
