The Ex-PM (pronounced 'ex P.M.') is an Australian television comedy series that first aired on ABC on Wednesday 14 October 2015.[1] The six-part series is written by and stars Shaun Micallef with director Sian Davies and producer Nick Murray for Cordell Jigsaw Zapruder.
A DVD containing all six episodes from the series was released by Roadshow Entertainment in Australia on 11 November 2015. Season two of the show will air in 2017.[2]
Synopsis
Andrew Dugdale, Australia’s third longest-serving Prime Minister, was a man who dined with presidents and kings, co-hosted world summits and changed the lives of millions of his fellow Australians. But since losing his grip on power, he now has far too much time on his hands and no one to waste it on.[3]
After blowing the advance for his memoirs but writing nothing in return, Dugdale has to accept a ghostwriter, Ellen, into his dysfunctional household (one that includes a wife in name only, a grown-up daughter with father issues – plus her son, a bodyguard who watches too much Person Of Interest on his iPhone, a PA who knows where all the bodies are buried, a chauffeur with a metal plate in his head and a heart of gold – and a cook on a 457 Visa).[4]
