Throwback Entertainment, based in Toronto, Canada develops, creates and publishes immersive and interactive gaming titles. Throwback Entertainment's unique portfolio of games has accumulated of $3.5 Billion in revenue, sold over 200 million copies and distributed to over 35 countries.
History
Founded in 2004, the founders of Throwback Entertainment considered purchasing Acclaim Entertainment, but after researching the company decided against it. Two years later, after Acclaim had shut down, Throwback announced the purchase of the Acclaim library, consisting of over 180 titles such as Iggy's Reckin Balls, Extreme-G, Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance and Vexx.[1]
On February 2011, We Go Interactive Co.,Ltd, located in Seoul, Korea, purchased the Re-Volt franchise from Throwback Entertainment.[2]
On May 6, 2015 during Microsoft's IGNITE conference, it was announced that Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance will be made available on Xbox One and the Windows stores.[3]
