Tikapur (Nepali: टिकापुर) is a municipality in Kailali District in the Seti Zone of western Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 56,127 living in 11,630 individual households.[1] The population is increasing day by day due to increasing number of migrants from hilly region. Tikapur is approximately fifteen kilometres south from east west highway and the Indian border is also fifteen kilometres away. Tikapur is mainly famous for Tikapur Brihat Park. Many peoples visited this park throughout the year especially in New Year (Nepali calendar). Ethnic people of Tharu community and other migrated from Hilly people live here after former minister late Khadag Bahadur Singh formally developed for city in 2030 BS. Tikapur is also famous for banana harvesting and also famous for schools. Tikapur is also known as Kancho(youngest) achham because mostly the people from Hilly Achham district live here.Beside tharu the people from various cast like Pandey,Shah, Batala,Rawal,Bist,Kunwar and Brahimns lives here.
Transport
Tikapur is connected to Mahendra Highway via Lamki Chuha -Tikapur Highway. Lamki Chuha is a central meeting point for Lamki Chuha -Tikapur Highway and Lamki Chuha-Achham Highway, where transport includes cycle rickshaws, public minibuses and public city buses.now day number of auto rickshaws are increasing day t०-day..
Education
Tikapur is a major education hub in Far Western Development Region. There are more than 50 schools and 10 higher secondary schools. Many people from rural areas come to Tikapur to gain Bachelors and Masters degrees. Ganesh Baba English Boarding School, Sant Nirankari Adrash Vidhya Mandir H S S, New Light Education Home, Radiant Montessori English School (R.M.E), Khadaga memorial (Govn), Araniko English Medium School, Mount Saipal International School, Birendra Vidhya Mandir Higher Secondary School, Birendra Vidhya Mandir Multiple Campus (B.M.C) and Tikapur Multiple Campus (T.M.C) & many more are famous education provider in Tikapur. Among all these,Ganesh Baba English Boarding School is the pioneer educational house in the city. Nowadays, many private educational organisations are established to provide better education.

Tikapur Hospital is the major health facility provider in the city. Privately owned hospitals also have facilities.
Tourism
Tikapur is the best planned town in Nepal. Tikapur Great Garden is the top tourist attraction in Tikapur. More than 100,000 tourists come to visit the garden every year.Mostly tkp park is packed in November and December.It is located in the shore of Karnali river and serves people with the variety of flowers, trees and Karnali river flowing aside entertains people with boating facility. Tikapur also has couple of beach resorts in the beach of Karnali river which is till date the only city (Tikapur) having beach resort in Nepal.Another trade area is Pandey Shopping Centre(near Tikapur Municipality) where every sorts of readymade clothes are found with the motto quality products in cheap price.
Media
To promote local culture Tikapur has four FM radio stations. Tikapur samudyak FM 101.0 MHz is a community radio station. The others are Radio Namaste and Kites F.M.
