Tilli
The Tilli are Hindu caste, found in the state of Bihar and West Bengal in India.[1]
History and origin
The Tili caste belong to West Bengal.Tillis speak in Bengali. Tillis are now found mainly in Bhagalpur District and also in major parts of West Bengal .[2]
Present circumstances
The Tili have two sub-divisions, the Kashyap and the Sandil. They maintain the custom of clan exogamy. The Tili are cultivators, and have customs similar to other neighbouring Hindu communities such as the Yadav and Sadgop. Like many other Hindu communities, they have their own caste association, the Tili Samaj, which acts as a welfare association for the community.[3]
