Tom Oliver Richards (born 16 October 1994) is an English footballer who last played as a defender for Aldershot.
Club career
Fulham
Growing up as a Chelsea and Fulham supporter,[3] Richards signed his first professional contract with Chelsea's rival Fulham after a six-week trial in 2011.[4] Ahead of the 2013–14 season, Richards signed a new contract until 2014, with the option of another year.[5]
On 28 February 2014, Richards joined AFC Wimbledon on loan until the end of the 2013–14 season, prior to his loan move he made sixteen appearances for the Fulham Under-21 team and scored one goal.[6] Richards made his Football League debut for AFC Wimbledon in a 0–0 draw away against Fleetwood Town on 1 March 2014.[7]
Aldershot Town
On 21 February 2015, Richards joined Conference Premier side Aldershot Town on a one-month loan deal.[8] On 3 March 2015, Richards made his Aldershot Town debut in a 3–1 victory against Dover Athletic, in which he replaced Tristan Plummer with eighteen minutes remaining.[9] On 6 June 2015, Richards joined Aldershot Town on a one-year deal after impressing whilst on loan.[10] On 19 December 2015, Richards scored his first Aldershot Town goal in a decisive 1–0 victory over Guiseley.[11]
After only featuring twenty five times for Aldershot Town in their 2015/16 campaign, upon the arrival of new manager Gary Waddock, Richards was released upon the expiry of his contract along with Luke Oliver.[12]
