Toofan Harirod is a football team in Afghanistan.[1] They play in the Afghan Premier League. It was founded in August 2012, by the creation of the Afghan Premier League and its players had been chosen through a casting-show called Maidan-E-Sabz (Green Field). They represent the western region of Afghanistan.
Toofaan Harirod F.C. won the first season and earned $15,000, defeating Simorgh Alborz F.C. 2–1 in the final match of the tournament. They also outplayed De Spin Ghar Bazan F.C. by a margin of 10–0 to advance to the Final. This gave them the confidence and excitement to succeed in the final and make them the first champions of the Afghan Premier League. Large Numbers of supporters of both teams and officials from the government, came together in the stadium to watch the final match. Those who came, included: Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and the Governing body of A.F.F (Afghanistan Football Federation).
