Touch Detective Rising 3: Does Funghi Dream of Bananas? (Japanese: おさわり探偵 小沢里奈 ライジング3 ~なめこはバナナの夢を見るか?~ Hepburn: Osawari Tantei Ozawa Rina Raijingu 3 ~Nameko wa Banana no Yume o Miru ka?~) is a point-and-click mystery adventure game for the Nintendo 3DS which makes use of the device's touch screen. It was developed by BeeWorks and released in Japan by Success Corporation. It is the third title in the Touch Detective (Osawari Tantei: Ozawa Rina) series, after Touch Detective and Touch Detective 2 ½, and features Mackenzie returning to the main character role as she faces a new detective rival.[1]
Gameplay
The gameplay remains true to the previous games, with the player controlling main character Detective Mackenzie by way of the touch screen. The touch screen will be used for collecting items and evidence, as well as being used to interact with people. Players can presents items they have to people, by selecting the item from their inventory and using it on that person. The gamescreen as well as graphical look remains as it was in previous games.
Characters
- Rina Ozawa (小沢 里奈 Ozawa Rina) / Mackenzie
- Returns as the lead character. As a young girl, she runs a detective agency with the help of her family butler, Cromwell.
- Nameko (なめこ) / Funghi
- A living nameko mushroom that is kept as a pet by Mackenzie and travels with her as she moves about town.
- Shiro Tachi (館 史郎 Tachi Shiro)
- A boy from a plutocratic background who challenges Mackenzie in a contest to become the greatest detective in the world.[2]
- Kinako (きなこ)
- A "professional assistant" dispatched from the Great Detective Society to act as Shiro's partner. She has the appearance of a shaggy yellow dog.[2]
- Manami (まなみ) / Penelope
- One of the girls that lives in the condominiums in town, and Mackenzie's best friend. She's constantly getting herself into trouble.
- Chitose (ちとせ) / Chloe
- Another girl in town, and while friend of Mackenzie, tends to be her rival in trying to solve cases. Chloe generally takes actions before figuring out their consequences.
- Jii (じい Jii) / Cromwell
- Butler for Mackenzie and also a genius inventor. Cromwell is a man who has worked for Mackenzie's family for over 300 years.
- Daisy (デイジー Deijī)
- A girl who works part-time at the local clothing boutique, "Naked Bones."
- Phantom Thief Morokoshi (怪盗モロコシ Kaitō Morokoshi) / The Cornstalker
- The villain of Touch Detective 2 ½, a master of disguise and thief of antiquities.
- Police Inspector Daria (ダリア警部 Daria Keibu) / Inspector Daria
- A police officer and self-proclaimed rival of the Cornstalker.
Other characters from previous games, including Beatrice the landlady, the planetarium owner from Touch Detective, and Connor from Touch Detective 2 ½, will also return.[3]
