The Transtar Dagger GT is an upcoming American high-performance supercar currently being developed by TranStar Racing, LLC.[1] It is being designed for the sole purpose to be the world's fastest production car.[2]
Models
The Dagger GT will be sold in 6 different models, 3 race-only for breaking speed records[3] and 3 road-legal models.[4]
Race-only
- The Dagger GT-R will feature a 2000 hp engine, FIA safety package and a split rear wing. With it, TranStar will try to create new lap records at the Virginia International Raceway and the Nürburgring.
- The Dagger GT-LS is TranStar's land-speed package, with Nelson Racing Engines' 2700 hp engine, 500 km/h rated M/T landspeed tires, 1,000 lb (450 kg) of low front-end ballast, full bellypan with twin venturi tunnels, land-speed wheel covers, intake aero plugs, parachute, backup chute, Bonneville rollcage and a range of other options. TranStar plan to reach a record 315 mph (507 km/h).
- The Dagger GT-D will be TranStar's drag racing package with a 2700 hp engine, Goodyear Pro Stock Slick tires, hydraulic-launched double drag chutes, drag wing, NHRA rollcage, drag racing transaxle, and a drag racing rear suspension that will emulate a Pro Stock Dragster. With all these features TranStar hope to achieve quarter mile times of 5.6 seconds @ 205 mph (330 km/h). They also hope to beat the 1900 hp Nissan Project Zed car’s 1.2 seconds 0-to-60 mph. Finally, they want to beat the Standing Mile record set by the Ford GT Bad at 283.232 mph (455.818 km/h).
Street-legal
- The Dagger GT-S will be the “Sport” model, a street-legal 600 to 800 hp version of the GT-R model. The buyer can specify their preferred suspension preference and interior design features.
- The Dagger GT-SS will be the “Super Sport” model that can be outfitted with either of Nelson's 7 litre Twin-Turbo 2000 hp V8, or a 10.35 litre 2700 hp V8.[5] They plan to try to get the 2000+ hp engines to meet EPA emissions by early 2013.
- The Dagger GT-X will be the "Luxury" model with the buyer's preferred engine and interior features. This model has around 300 pounds of insulation and sound-proofing material. TranStar's aim is to give it the feel of top-end luxury motorcars. The suspension may be soft, sport or race, as desired by the owner.
