Trespass is a privately owned[1] international sportswear brand, specialising in skiwear, waterproof jackets, fleece, festival accessories, walking boots and camping gear. The company sells outdoor clothing in the wholesale market, through UK based retail stores and, more recently, through its online e-commerce website. Trespass's clothing, accessories, and gear range from entry level to more advanced.
History
Jacobs & Turner Ltd., Trespass' parent company, was established in 1938[2] and, at the time, specialized in technical workwear. The subsidiary brand Trespass was created in 1984, moving the company towards specializing in performance skiwear and outdoor clothing. Since its inception, the company has been located in Glasgow, Scotland, with its main head office and distribution centre still residing in the south side of the city.
Stores
After moving into the retail trade in the 1990s, Trespass rapidly expanded its business. The 150th Trespass store was recently opened in Wembley at the London Designer Outlet, and in 2010 the company unveiled plans to open up to 250 UK stores in the following four years.[3][4]
In addition to Trespass's UK retail stores, the company also has operations in 62 countries worldwide.[4][3] Further to this, Trespass also has a growing e-commerce business on its website.
Partnership with Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games
In February 2013 it was announced that Trespass will be the Official Uniform Providers for the Glasgow 2014 XX Commonwealth Games. Trespass are supplying the uniforms for the Queen’s Baton Relay and the Games Workforce, which amounts to an expected 15,000 volunteers.[5][6][7] On the 18th of August 2013 the Trespass designed uniforms were unveiled,[8] alongside the Relay baton.[9]
