True Myth was a Canadian musical group formed in 1977 in London, Ontario. The band members were students at that city's Fanshawe College who began the group for a class project.

History

True Myth, a progressive rock band signed by A&R man Gary Muth, released their self-titled Warner Bros. Records album in 1979. This was only the second digitally-recorded album ever produced and a first in Canada. Tom Treumuth and Gary Furniss co-produced the album, and also co-produced such bands as The Fictions, The Demics, Figgy Duff and The Briet Brothers. Tom also produced albums for Helix and Honeymoon Suite in Canada.

Their first album, True Myth, on Warner Bros. Records, was recorded live to a two-track digital recorder called "Soundstream". The album's technical producer was Jack Richardson (Guess Who, Bob Seger and Alice Cooper, among others).
