The Carson Challenger (also known as the USTA Player Development Classic and the USTA LA Tennis Open) was a tournament for professional female and male tennis players played on outdoor hard courts. The event was classified as a $50,000 ITF Women's Circuit tournament and was held in Carson, California, United States, from 2007–2011. In 2014 the tournament was a replacement for the Yakima Regional Hospital Challenger, as their clubhouse was destroyed by a fire earlier in the year.[1] The event was also previously part of the ATP Challenger Tour series from 2005 to 2010, with the exception of 2006.
