Union of Eclipses
The Union of Eclipses is a shadowy, world-spanning cabal of vampires and other undead spellcasters in the fictional Dungeons and Dragons universe. Their secret architect is the vampire god Kanchelsis; they meet in his home, the Lair of the Beast & Mansion of the Rake on the 487th layer of the Abyss.
Prominent leaders of the Union of Eclipses include the vampire sorcerer Baucojin, known as the "Crimson Eclipse;" the lich-lord Huersefful, the "Shrouded Eclipse;" the elven vampire queen Ivirere, called "the Verdant Eclipse;" and the vampire-lord Vlad Tolenkov, whose Nightworld is one of the worlds tied to the Demonweb Pits. It is said to be most unwise to offend or attack a member, as the Vampires of the Union of Eclipses consider an attack on one to be an attack on all.
Publishing history
The "Union of Eclipses" was first introduced in Dungeon Magazine #123 as part of the world-spanning adventure "Quicksilver Hourglass."[1] It was not then associated with Kanchelsis; this link would not be made until 2006, in a description of Kanchelsis's stronghold found on the Wizards of the Coast website.[2] This link hasn't been mentioned in print before or since, and the Union of Eclipses itself has only been mentioned in those two places.
