National final
The UK selection heat, The Great British Song Contest, was held on 15 March 1998 and was hosted by Terry Wogan and Ulrika Jonsson. The final result was as follows:
At Eurovision
Continuing the United Kingdom's success the previous year, the United Kingdom was the sixteenth country to perform straight after Romania. In the end Imaani finished as runner-up to Israel's Dana International with a total of 166 points from all twenty four other countries.
