Vela Ramamoorthy is an Indian writer and actor who has appeared in Tamil language films. He has acted in films including Paayum Puli (2015) and Sethupathi (2016).

Career

He is a PUC Graduate,Joined Indian Army and served for five years. Then he was posted in Post office. Since he is a writer, many people would come to meet him in his office. "I used to spend half of my salary in the tea shops." He remembers in an interview with ‘Pudhiya Thalamurai ‘ Tamil magazine. Vela Ramamoorthy has written acclaimed Tamil novels including Kuttra Parambarai and Kuruthi Aattam, and is considered one of the leading Tamil story writers of his time.^[1]^[2] He was also involved in the dispute regarding the rights of making a film out of Kuttra Parambarai and had supported Bala's project ahead of Bharathiraja's.^[3]

In the mid-2010s, he was cast as an actor and has since gone on to portray supporting roles in notable films including Komban (2015), Paayum Puli (2015) and Sethupathi (2016).^[4]^[5]
