The Victorian Naturalist is the journal of the Field Naturalists Club of Victoria and has been published continuously since 1884 and continues to be issued six times a year. It is the magazine and journal of the oldest conservation group in Victoria.[1]
The Victorian Naturalist publishes a mixture of technical and scientific research reports, 'Naturalist Notes', FNCV member contributions (such as reports of excursions and meetings) and book reviews and is intended to appeal to a wide readership. Research Reports or Contributions jucjed to have scientific or other merit are subject to external referee.[2] It includes articles of relevance to Australia on the widest range of natural history subjects, including those ...with an historical focus on significant people or events within the areas of interest are also considered for publication. It is edited, as of October 2013, by Anne Morton, Gary Presland and Maria Gibson.[2]
The journal is indexed by RMIT INFORMIT,[3] and recent issues are ranked by Scopus.[4]
