Vierendrra Lalit ( born in village Dhimahi, Bulendshehr, U.P, on 16 March 1969 ), is an Indian born Cinematographer and Film Director. He is very well related to Bollywood, Tollywood and Malaysian Cinema. He is member of Western India Cinematographers Association (WICA), Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA), Indian Documentary Producers Association ( IDPA ), Film worker association of Malaysia (PPFM), Ad Club of Bombay (ACB) and Western India Film Producers Association ( WIFPA ). He owns a Film Production company with the name, “Roop Chitra Visual “.
Early Life and Education
Vierendrra Lalit was born in family of a Freedom Fighter. His grandfather Sohan Pal Singh was a Farmer, social activist and a Freedom Fighter, who actively participated in Quit India Movement, 1942 and went to jail several times. His father, Dr Roop Kishore, now retired, is a famous Scientist in Genetics and Plant Breeding. He was a professor in Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, U.P. His mother, Chitra Verma is a home maker and a natural born artist and the biggest inspiration in Vierendrra Lalit’s life. Vierendrra Lalit did his schooling from UP Sainik School, Lucknow and Masters in Philosophy from Kanpur University.
Career
After a Diploma in photography, Vierendrra Lalit came to Mumbai and joined Kabir Lal, a renowned cinematographer as an apprentice and assisted him in Films like Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, Taal, Hum Aapke Dil Main Rahte Hai, Humara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, Prem Aggan, Khauff etc. Later, he assisted Jhony Lal for the Film, Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai. In 2001, he became independent and till date has done more than 15 Feature Films, more than 400 Ad Films, more than 200 music videos and hundreds of corporates and documentaries. Recently he has directed one feature film, TO BE OR NOT TO BE. It is shot in Hindi and English and features Rahul Roy, Akansha Shivhare, Trivikram Matto and Vivek Srivastava.
