- 1 2 3 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) officially announced that the 2016 AFF Futsal Championship will be canceled due to the withdrawing of all hosts.
Thailand was supposed to be the host of 2016 AFF Championship as the first place. However, Thailand decided to withdraw from hosting role due to the passing of HM King Bhumibol. Indonesia submitted the request to be the new host and AFF rescheduled the event to Jakarta in 9–15 November 2016.
However, Indonesia decided to withdraw from being host nation. Singapore is another candidate but they are also unable to host the event in the short time of preparation.
With all of the causes, AFF then decided to cancel the 2016 Futsal Championship.
