Vzglyad (newspaper)
Vzglyad (Russian: взгляд) is a Russian online newspaper, established in 2005. It is produced by Konstantin Rykov. On 23 January 2012, one of its editors, Igor Vinyavsky, was arrested for allegedly distributing leaflets demanding an insurrection and imprisoned, seen as a threat to national security by the Kazakh government.[1][2] Vinyavsky's persecution is believed to be due to his reporting of the events in Zhanaozen, also known as 2011 Mangystau riots.[3]
