WZAB (880 AM, "The Biz") is a business news and talk radio station serving the South Florida area of Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Studios and offices for WZAB are located on West Flagler Street in Miami, and it is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission to Sweetwater, Florida.
WZAB airs some business news programs produced by Bloomberg Radio along with a mix of syndicated financial programs and radio talk shows, such as Ray Lucia and The John Cardillo Show, as well as paid sponsored programming aimed at investors. WZAB is under the joint ownership of Florida City Radio and Salem Communications under a local marketing agreement. Salem also owns two religious stations in the Miami area, English-language 1080 WHIM and Spanish-language 1360 WKAT, as well as talk radio 1450 WOCN.
History
A construction permit was granted to Florida City Radio by the F.C.C. on February 18, 2008, to start this station. The call letters were issued on July 15, 2008 but the station didn't to on the air until Salem began its local marketing agreement with Florida City Radio. WZAB made its debut on October 7, 2008.[1]
