Walter Sillers, Jr.

Walter Sillers Jr. (April 13, 1888 – September 24, 1966) was an American lawyer and legislative leader from Mississippi.

Sillers was born in Rosedale, Mississippi. Originally an attorney, he served in the Mississippi House of Representatives from 1916–1966. He served as Speaker of that body from January 4, 1944 until his death on September 24, 1966.[1] He was a delegate to the Democratic National Conventions of 1916, 1924, 1944, 1948, 1952, and 1956.[2][3]
