William D. Wood

William D. Wood (December 14, 1822 February 2, 1867) was an American Union brevet brigadier general during the period of the American Civil War. He began the war serving as aide-de-camp to Hamilton Gamble, governor of Missouri.[1] He received his appointment as brevet brigadier general dated to March 13, 1865.[2]
