Williamsburg Railroad

The Williamsburg Railroad was a railroad company chartered in the second half of the 19th century.

The Williamsburg Railroad was chartered by the South Carolina General Assembly in 1876. The name was changed to the Central Railroad of South Carolina a short while later.

The Central of South Carolina opened in 1882.[1]

The line was leased to the Wilmington, Columbia and Augusta Railroad and the Northeastern Railroad.[2]

The Central of South Carolina was later bought by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad.[3]
