Worthy Donovan Rafael de Jong (born March 14, 1988) is a Dutch professional basketball player for SOMB Boulogne-sur-Mer. De Jong is also part of the Dutch national team. De Jong plays the shooting guard and the small forward position.[2]
Professional career
De Jong signed with the Rotterdam Challengers for the 2009–10 season.
On July 19, 2010, he signed a deal with ZZ Leiden.[3] Under head coach Toon van Helfteren, De Jong was a rotation player in his first seasons. In the 2010–11 season, De Jong won his first DBL title after Leiden beat Groningen 4–3 in the Finals. In the following seasons, De Jong grew into a star in the DBL. In the 2012-13 season, De Jong won his second title after Leeuwarden was downed 4–0. In the 2014 offseason, he signed a new 3-year contract with Leiden.[4]
In the 2015–16 season, De Jong won his first DBL Most Valuable Player Award of his career.[5]
In June 2016, De Jong signed with SOMB Boulogne-sur-Mer.[6]
