Zamir Cohen

Rabbi Zamir Cohen[1] (Hebrew: זמיר כהן, IPA: [zaˈmiʁ koˈhen]), (born 1965 in Jerusalem) is the chairman of the Hidabroot organization and producer of the first Orthodox religious Jewish television channel in Israel.

Rabbi Zamir Cohen was born and raised in the Beit Yisrael neighborhood in Jerusalem. He learned and acquired his Semikhah from the Porat Yosef Yeshiva and was appointed the head of Yeshiva after a short while. After the appointment, Cohen set up the "Hidabroot" organization to bring and spread the Torah's knowledge in Israel and the world. In the beginning of 2008, the organization produced the first Orthodox Jewish religious television channel which offers, in part, Rabbi Zamir Cohen's lectures and shows. In 2011, Rabbi Cohen made his first visit to Latin America visiting São Paulo between September 1-5 and Argentina between September 6-11.

Rabbi Cohen's Hidabroot organization also produces and manages a website which offers shows, lectures, presentations, and articles about Judaism. Today, Rabbi Zamir Cohen is the chairman of the Hidabroot organization and the head of the Beitar Illit Yeshiva.
