Zhambyl Tulaev (Russian: Жамбыл Тулаев; 1905 — 1961) was a Soviet sniper.
Tulaev fought in World War II. He destroyed 313 German soldiers. He was awarded the Hero of the Soviet Union title.[1] Tulaev was born in Buryatia (Russia), May 2, 1905. He was an ethnic Buryat.
Tulaev began war in March 1942. He killed 313 German soldiers and officers. He was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union on February 14, 1943.[2] After the war he worked as chairman of the kolkhoz in Buryatia. Zhambyl Tulaev died in January 17, 1961.
