Zhigalovo (Russian: Жигалово) is an urban locality (a work settlement) and the administrative center of Zhigalovsky District of Irkutsk Oblast, Russia, located on the left bank of the Lena River. Population: 5,369 (2010 Census);[1] 5,412 (2002 Census);[3] 5,663 (1989 Census).[4]

Climate
Zhigalovo has a subarctic climate (Köppen climate classification Dfc/Dwc) with severely cold winters and warm summers. Precipitation is quite low, but is much higher in summer than at other times of the year.
