Plot
The movie is centered around a group of high school friends, who struggle to confess their love. The story begins when, Natsuki Enomoto confesses to her childhood friend Yū Setoguchi, and from embarrassment, denies her love for him calling it a "practice confession". The next day Natsuki is confronted by her bestfriends, Akari Hayasaka and Miō Aida, admitting her failed confession. Her friends cheer her on and discuss the love life of Miō, who has feelings for her close friend Haruki Serizawa. Although Miō and Natsuki are having problems confessing their love, Akari remains untroubled by the possibility of unrequited love. Even though, she is the main focus of a boy in her class named Sōta Mochizuki, who has been in love with Akari since opening ceremony. Mochizuki has never talked to Akari and constantly has conversations with his devilish conscience about whether to confess his love. As Mochizuki is feeling alone in his battle to tell Akari, he notices one of his classmates, Koyuki Ayase, is secretly in love with Natsuki. Koyuki an old friend who has changed his look, no longer wearing glasses and having cut his hair. After school, Natsuki goes over to Yū's house as usually and plays videos game with his sister. When Yū arrives, home they begin studying and Natsuki asks Yū if she got a boyfriend, what would he do, and he responds he would support her, even though he is in love with her. The next day Mochizuki musters up the courage to say good morning to Akari and telling her about her bed head, making it the first time they have spoken to one another. She tells him it is their little secret and he falls in love with her more, pondering who she could like and can he ask her out. The scene changes to the female trio having lunch and talking about their guy troubles, when Koyuki gives Natsuki tickets to Honey Works, ecstatic she accepts and chases after him to ask him questions about merchandize, while her friends question if the concert is a date or not. After school Natsuki decides not to hangout with Yū, instead picks out her outfit for the concert. Her brother, Kotaro Enomoto, ask about Yū's sister who he likes, and Natsuki teases ending in the siblings fighting. The scene shifts to Yū's home and he is eating dinner with his sister, Hina Setoguchi, who talks down about Netsuke's brother. Oblivious to the fact that Kotaro likes her. The next morning Yū is returning a dvd to Natsuki, and learns about her concert date with Koyuki the two fight about her outfit, but are actually fighting about their relationship. Natsuki goes to the concert and has a great time until during one of the songs she realizes it has to be Yū. Koyuki walks her home and as he sees Natsuki look at Yū house, thinking about their previous fight, Koyuki hugs Natsuki and tries to confess, saying he won't make her sad like Yū. He is interrupted by Yū, and the two argue about their hidden feelings in front of Natsuki, who begins to cry. Yū tells Koyuki that's enough and takes Natsuki hand and leads her home. That night Yū tries to text Natsuki about his feelings but cannot. In the morning before school the two pretend like nothing has happen and walk together, once at school Koyuki apologizes to Natsuki. Onboard a train to school, Mochizuki who still thinks over Akari sees a trio of schoolgirls from another school gives up his seat to one of them and heads over to the next train car. Later during lunch, he gets some motivation from Koyuki and musters his courage to confess his love to Akari, in which she agreed to a extent that they walk to a cake shop after school. Meanwhile, Haruki gets advice from his own brother about his feelings for Mio. Natsuki talks to Mio who still has troubles after seeing a first year confessing to Yu. After some advice and questioning, she musters her own personal courage and tells Yu to wait for her. The next day after school, she gathers her courage and confesses but Yu, who still thinks that he was not the one she loves tells her she passed and wishes her luck in the real one. As he was about to leave, he was confronted by a crying Natsuki who finally tells him that the practice was a lie and her confessions were actually real, which makes Yu happy since he has his own feelings for her and accepts it. The flim ends with Natsuki waking Yu up from his sleep and questions him once again, which in reply he lowers her guard and says it out and was seen hugged by her.
In the mid credits, Ayase silently congratulates Natsuki for finally confessing and getting accepted. Meanwhile, A pink hared girl, assumingly being Yu's sister was seen standing at the school lockers holding a letter, possibly a love letter that was meant for someone.
