In 1980 Inter Milan won its twelfth league title, nine years after last success. Inter showed a squad with players such as Ivano Bordon, Gabriele Oriali, Evaristo Beccalossi and Alessandro Altobelli: came first ahead Juventus, beaten 4-0 in San Siro (Altobelli's hat-trick). By winning this title, Inter could come back in Europe Cup after being runner-up in 1971–72.
