- 18 December - Luiz Ejlli is selected to represent Albania at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest with his song "Zjarr e ftohtë". He is selected to be the third Albanian Eurovision entry during Festivali i Këngës 44 held at the Palace of Congresses in Tirana.
