The 2006 Players Championship was a golf tournament on the PGA Tour, held March 23–26 at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. It was the 33rd Players Championship. Stephen Ames completed the biggest win of his career by a comfortable margin of six strokes ahead of runner-up Retief Goosen.[1][2]
This was the final edition of the tournament to be played in March; it moved to a May date for 2007.

This was the 25th Players Championship held at the TPC at Sawgrass Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Its 2006 setup measured 7,098 yards (6,490 m).
